Small river, wind in trees.

This is a narrated soundwalk on a hill. It involves wind blowing leaves and trees, and a very weird bird sound that i can not identify. I walked back and forth between the area where this sound was recorded. There's always the sound of my walking and miscellaneous sounds i may not have mentioned in the minute.

Recorded in czech republic using iphone 7 plus mic at 320kbps (which i found had a more rounded sound than more advanced mics i used for the same sound). Short recording of a royal air force boeing chinook helicopter flying overhead at night in windy conditions, hankley common, surrey, england. First, the engine note of the turbines can be heard and as it turns, the characteristic rotor 'slap'. It then fades into the distance. Recorded on a zoom h2 with a sennheiser mono gun mike.

These were recorded may 26 2007, about two weeks after the first spring peepers (pseudacris crucifer) were heard in the area. A dog in a distant garden can be heard barking a couple of times in this recording, but if anyone needs a clean recording i can probably find another, similar-length section of the original without extraneous sound. Or it could probably be edited out without too much trouble.

I needed a nice clear, slightly ominous match being lit, and so we created this composite using kitchen matches in the shower with a zoom h2.
